A dual-wavelength diode laser lipolysis system for practitioners expanding into advanced aesthetic and body-contouring treatments. Heat contracts existing collagen fibres, producing a tighter appearance. The healing/remodelling response can encourage new collagen formation over time. This is particularly useful where there is a combination of mild/moderate laxity and small pockets of fat. Improved facial definition is achievable, especially the lower face, jawline and submental/double-chin area — a clinical trial of 980 nm laser-assisted lipolysis found significant reduction in submental fat and concluded it could improve tightening/rejuvenation in that area. Body contouring areas such as abdomen, arms, thighs and other localised fat deposits can be treated, with tightening occurring alongside fat reduction. Two wavelengths do slightly different jobs: 980 nm provides a deeper thermal effect for coagulation and tissue contraction, while 1470 nm is strongly absorbed by water-rich tissue, useful for controlled heating of superficial tissues and lipolysis.
